Devotion to Mary

Members of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mercy strive to have a true devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our spiritual mother. It is through Mary that Jesus came to us in His Incarnation, and it is through Mary that Jesus continues to come to us in the life of grace. We understand that one of the best ways for us to be transformed in Christ Jesus is for us to go with confidence to His Holy Mother – β€œTo Jesus through Mary.”

In recognition of our need for her as our spiritual mother, members of the Confraternity wear a scapular or medal as a reminder of the maternal protection and intercession of Our Lady. We can choose to wear the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the Green Scapular of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, or the Miraculous Medal. Whichever scapular or medal that we choose, it will be for the individual member a constant reminder of our holy mother, and through her, of our Lord Jesus.

“What purity can be anywhere found, even amongst the holy angels, comparable to the purity of her who was deemed worthy to be made the living sanctuary of the Holy Spirit and the dwelling of the Son of God?” — St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Thoughts on the March for Life 2022

Due to the pandemic, it had been two […]
