A Blessed Christmas to all of you!

December 22, 2012 by Fr. Ben Cameron Leave a Comment

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Our Merciful Lord Jesus:

I would like to wish each and every one of you a most holy and blessed Christmas.  May the Infant Christ fill your hearts and souls with His Peace and His Joy.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux has a homily [in the Liturgy of the Hours for December 20th] in which he speaks of how the entire world, including Adam and all the holy patriarchs, were waiting in expectation for the answer of Mary to the angel:

“Answer quickly, O Virgin.  Reply in haste to the angel, or rather through the angel to the Lord.  Answer with a word, receive the Word of God.  Speak your own word, conceive the divine Word.  Breathe a passing word, embrace the eternal Word.”

May each of us, like the Most Holy Virgin, respond with great faith, hope and love to the call of the Christ Child.  And may our hearts be totally open to Him, as her heart was.

You will all be remembered in the intention of Midnight Mass this Christmas.
