Honoring the Fallen
As the United States, and the civilized world, remember the terrible attacks upon our nation, the duty of remembrance guides us to honor those who died that day. Nineteen terrorists, bent on as much destruction as possible, took the lives of around 3,000 persons in one fateful day.
Three thousand men, women and children. Murdered in cold blood. Some of them died as heroes, trying to save the lives of others. The rest were innocent victims.
But rather than seethe with anger, we honor our dead. And we pray for them. We pray for the blessed repose of their souls, that they are in the arms of our Merciful God. We pray for their families who were left behind.
We should pray also for all of the military personnel who have given their lives. They gave their lives in the fight against Islamic terrorism.
Thousands of American, Canadian, British, Australian, Polish, and other nations’ military forces have been killed.
They fought for freedom and justice.
Finally, we should pray for the conversion of the perpetrators. Additionally, pray for the Islamic terrorists, and those who support them. We should pray that they may be converted from the evil they have done. This is our obligation as followers of Christ. “Pray for those who persecute you, for those who do evil to you.”
