National Eucharistic Congress

July 24, 2024 by Fr. Ben Cameron Leave a Comment

I had the tremendous joy and privilege to participate in the 10th National Eucharistic Congress last week in Indianapolis. It was amazing be present with 60,000 Catholics, including around 150 bishops, over 1,000 priests, and hundreds of religious sisters, all focused on growing our relationship with the Eucharistic Lord Jesus.

During the course of the five days of the Congress, we heard from some tremendous speakers, joined ourselves heart and soul with Our Lord’s Infinite Sacrifice of Love made present in the Mass, and spent hours in praise and adoration. In every way, it was inspirational.

On Saturday afternoon, we had a Eucharistic Procession through downtown Indianapolis. The procession stretched 6 or more city blocks, with tens of thousands of Catholics lining the street as the religious and clergy processed in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Here’s a picture of the procession in front of the iconic “Soldiers and Sailors” Monument in the heart of the city:

At the end of the procession, we were in American Legion park, and Our Blessed Lord was enthroned on an altar on the Indiana World War Memorial. After a time of adoration, we all received the blessing of the Eucharistic Lord (Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament) from the War Memorial. I saw it as Our Eucharistic Lord sending out His blessing upon the city of Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, and the entire United States of America.

I would encourage everyone to listen to the tremendous talks that were given during our evening Revival Sessions. Here’s one by Chris Stefanick:

May we all fall more deeply in love with Our Lord Jesus Christ, and then spread that love to those who Jesus brings into our lives!

Consecration of United States to the Sacred Heart

For thousands of years, the human heart has represented love. In the Old Testament, there are numerous references to the “heart” of God, who loves his people, Israel. In the New Covenant, the love of Jesus Christ is shown in his heart, which was pierced by the lance after his death upon the Cross. In […]

St. Matthias: Forgotten Apostle

St. Matthias was one of the 72 disciples sent out by Our Lord Jesus to preach and cure the sick. After the Ascension of Our Lord into heaven, St. Peter said that it was necessary to choose one of the disciples to replace Judas Iscariot. Two men were proposed: Barsabbas (Justus) and Matthias. The apostles […]

Making a Holy Lent 2026

Pope Leo XIV has some reflections for this Lent: First, listening to the Word of God in the liturgy, and through that, to “those who are anguished and suffering.” “Our God is one who seeks to involve us,” the Holy Father wrote. “Even today he shares with us what is in his heart. Because of […]
